Wyoming DUI and Vehicular Crimes Penalties

Penalties for basic Wyoming DUI charges:

Second Offense: If the driver has committed 1 DUI offense before within 5 years, it will be considered a misdemeanor and he or she will be sentenced to between 7 days and 6 months in jail and fined between $200 and $750. The driver will also be required to attend a substance abuse screening.
Third Offense: If the driver has committed 2 DUI offenses before within 5 years, it will be considered a misdemeanor and he or she will be sentenced to between 30 days and 6 months in jail and fined between $750 and $3000. The minimum jail sentence may be reduced to 15 days if the driver completes a substance abuse course.
Fourth Offense or more: If the driver has committed at least 3 DUI offenses before within 5 years, it will be considered a felony and he or she will be sentenced to up to 2 years in prison and fined up to $10,000.
Additionally, all drivers who are convicted of any DUI offense will have their licenses suspended.
Wyoming Penalties for DUI resulting in serious injury:
If the driver causes serious injury to another person as a result of driving under the influence, he or she will be fined between $2000 and $5000 and sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, or 20 years for a repeat offense.
Wyoming Penalties for DUI with a child in the vehicle:
If a driver over 18 commits a DUI offense with a child in the vehicle, he or she will be sentenced to up to 1 year in prison, or 5 years for a repeat offense.
