WA DUI cases are handled at the city and county levels for misdemeanors. Below is information about some of the areas that I regularly practice in:
Redmond DUI Arrest HelpIf a person is stopped and arrested by a Redmond Police Officer for suspicion of DUI, they will be taken to the Redmond Police Department for BAC processing. The Redmond Police Department is 8701 160th Ave NE Redmond, WA 98052 The Redmond Police Department and Redmond DUI CasesThe Redmond Police Department is located within the City of Redmond Campus and adjacent to the King County District Court- Redmond Courthouse. If a person is taken to the Redmond Police Department for BAC processing, there is video recorder in the breath test room. People who were taken to the Redmond Police Department as a result of their arrest for DUI may request a copy of the video recording during the time they were at the station. This request is typically made through the Redmond Prosecuting Attorney's Office. There are a few Redmond Police Officers who have in-car video recorders in their patrol vehicles. Should a Redmond Police Officer conducting an investigation for DUI, they are required to inform the suspect that he or she is being recorded. If a person who was arrested for a Redmond DUI was not informed they were reported, then it is likely the arresting officer did not have a video in their vehicle. If a person receives a Redmond DUI, they will likely have charges filed via investigation. Typically, they will receive a summons to appear in court for their arraignment anywhere from 1-3 weeks after their arrest (It is sometimes longer in certain circumstances, such as if there is a blood test in which test results are pending from the Washington State Toxicology Laboratory). The City of Redmond Prosecuting Attorney is Larry Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell, along with Jill Klinge and Stefanie Snow, handle all DUI prosecutions for the City of Redmond.

Currently, there are three judges assigned to this court. The three judges are the Honorable David Steiner, Linda Jacke and Frank LaSalata. |
