Lindsay Lohan driving after California DUI jailtime
Lindsay Lohan’s high profile DUI case has concluded this week with the starlet receiving full driving privileges after her release from rehabilitation.
Lohan served 14 days in jail and 22 days in rehabilitation following her 2007 DUI conviction and subsequent jail sentence for multiple probation violations. She served only a fraction of her original 90-day prison sentence due to “overcrowding” of the prison. Lohan made headlines again this week after showing up at a DMV to get her license reinstated then proceeding to drive her new Maserati around West Hollywood.
The City of Los Angeles and its multiple judges, district attorneys and police officers who have been involved in the case have received criticism for the apparently unequal treatment of Lohan when compared to others charged under the same offenses. The criticism does not seem to change policy, however, as Lohan will continue to be free in the state as long as she attends mandatory therapy sessions.
