Tight end for the Green Bay Packers, Spencer Havner, crashed his motorcycle Saturday in a suspected DUI accident near Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol reported Havner is very lucky to have escaped with just a broken shoulder blade and lacerations; he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Havner was taken to a hospital following the collision, and the CHP was called to the hospital after the staff suspected Havner had been intoxicated.
Havner played all 16 games with the Packers this season. He caught four touchdowns, including a touchdown in the playoff loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He was released from the hospital on Sunday after his arrest. The accident occurred around 3:00AM about 55 miles outside of San Francisco.
The 27-year-old star lives in the Nevada City area of California. He was a four-year starter and local hero at UCLA during this college years. The Packers have no commented on the incident yet. Havner will likely face a suspension next season depending on the results of any investigation.
