Each state has a list of offenders with a high number of DUI's, and Ohio's Kevin Ante tops the states list with 21 convictions.

The 45-year-old driver was sentenced to 10 years in jail following a December 13 arrest, which finally put him in the lead in a competition no one wants to win. Ante previously was tied with a list of other offenders who racked up 20 arrests in the state. In his most recent case, Ante was pulled over for a lane change violation on U.S. 42, was discovered to be driving on a revoked license, and eventually booked on a DUI charge.

Despite his 21 convictions stemming back to his first arrest at age 17, Ante has only been in one crash. He has been in prison three times for similar charges, though, once for a lengthy 4 year term. However, the time in prison did not succeed in curing what a judge said was clearly a case of alcoholism.

Butler County Common Pleas Judge Michael J. Sage told Cincinnati.com that he sees alcoholism as a disease, and this presented a problem with how to best handle the sentencing. However, the ultimate decision came in the name of public safety, not punishment, when the judge determined Ante was too great a risk to other drivers to be allowed to walk free.
