A 19-year-old driver faces DWI charged following an accident that seriously injured one passenger in his vehicle this past Friday night.
The accident occurred around 9:30PM Friday night when Gregory Wall was driving on Amwell Road. 46-year-old Matthew Corcoran had been riding in the backseat of the vehicle but was thrown nearly 50 feet in the accident. A second passenger, 17, who was riding in the front seat was also injured.
According to investigator's reports, it appears speed was a factor when Wall lost control of his car, crossing into oncoming traffic before sending it off the eastbound shoulder. Corcoran was thrown into a ditch, not onto the roadway. He survived the accident and is in fair condition. Reports do not indicate whether he was wearing a seatbelt.
Wall was also injured and treated following the crash. He was initially only charged with DWI, but officers say more charges may be issued after a complete investigation of the accident scene and after Corocan's condition is better known.
