A local Henricks County councilman was found asleep behind the wheel of his car this weekend and will face OWI charges.

Nathan Woods was discovered at a railroad crossing around 2:00AM Friday morning. He was asleep in his car with the car running. Officers issued sobriety tests, and the reports indicate he failed three tests. He then provided a BAC test and registered .13%, over the legal limit but low enough to avoid enhanced charges.

Woods will be charged with a misdemeanor, which will result in no action by the council in any way. A statement from the council simply stated the regrettable nature of the incident. If Woods is charged with a felony OWi in connection with this or future incidents, the felony charge could result in his removal from the council.

Woods was bonded out of jail on Friday. He has not provided a personal statement to the press.
