According to the Sacramento Bee, new DUI charges have been filed against Lisa Gargano for another alleged impaired driving incident.

Gargano, who was formerly with the Sacramento Sheriff's Department, was fired on January 30, 2010, was involved in a collision over the weekend in a shopping center parking lot. There were no reported injuries, but Gargano was arrested for impaired driving.

If proven, this would be Gargano's second DUI offense. The first one came in September, when she drove her vehicle into a Starbucks, injuring at least one person. That case, in which she is accused of California Felony DUI, is still ongoing, with the next court date scheduled for March 4, 2010.

Gargano has a history of suspected drug use dating back to at least 2005. If the charges are proven, she faces substantial penalties.

When a person commits a DUI offense while they have a previous charge still pending in the court system, it can severely complicate both cases.

It is a shame she should be getting help but now she is looking at possibly two felony DUIs.
