Police agencies across the nation are out in drives after the conclusion of Super Bowl and the millions of associated parties going on across the nation.
As one of the biggest drinking and driving days of the year, police hope that their efforts tonight will help save lives. Some police departments have issued early press releases about intensive enforcement activities, including checkpoints.
Historically, Super Bowl Sunday has proven to be one of the most costly days of the year in terms of drunk driving fatalities, injuries and arrests, and this year is expect to be more of the same.
Despite the warnings, many people are finishing up Super Bowl parties right now, and will make the mistake of trying to drive home. While tonight we can only guess how many arrests, injuries and fatalities there will be as a result of Super Bowl drinking activities, tomorrow we will start looking at the reported numbers from police agencies from around the country and will report on them as they come in.
