It took a jury less than 30 minutes to decide the fate of University of North Dakota hockey player Matt Frattin.

Frattin is a Canadian local, and was drafted to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2007. He attends college at the University of North Dakota, where he was is local star. Frattin was arrested by campus police at the University on August 19. According to the arrest report, Frattin showed mixed results on a field sobriety test. There appeared to be insufficient evidence to lead to a conviction.

Frattin was kicked of the team after his arrest. The fast action may have been in part due to his prior arrest that summer for disorderly conduct. That charge, though, was relatively minor. Frattin was accused of throwing things onto the road with another player.

Frattin has been allowed back on the hockey team and will play again next season. Though Frattin was drafted to the professional Maple Leafs team, he has remained in school and posted great numbers for the University.

Frattin lead the division in both scoring and assists among rookies in the 07-08 season.
