FORMER POLICE CHIEF DAVID BAKER HAS AGREED TO AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON RIDIN’ DIRTY - THE RADIO SHOW!
Los Angeles, CA – November 13, 2008: Ridin’ Dirty, the only radio show in America dedicated to the issues of drinking and driving, is excited to announce that they have been granted an exclusive live interview with former Police Chief David Baker, of Alexandria, VA. Baker resigned as Police Chief 3 days after being arrested for drunken driving in July. Baker has since been sentenced to 5 days in jail, 20 hours of alcohol education classes, a restricted license for 12 months, and an ignition interlock device installed on his vehicle. Baker is committed to turn this incident into a positive by educating the public on the pain and inconvenience a DUI can cause. The exclusive interview will take place on Monday November 16th at 11:15am pacific time on KLAA AM830.
“We are honored to have been granted the opportunity to share David Baker’s experience with our listeners and to spread awareness of this national problem,” says Executive Producer and Host Ken Sharp. “It is important that people in the public eye share their stories to promote this social change,” says Sharp. Before becoming Police Chief, Baker was second-in-command with the Alexandria police department for 16 years. Baker previously worked for the D.C. police department for 21 years, and when he left the D.C. force, he was in charge of the traffic enforcement division. As chief of Police, Baker oversaw a staff of 484 employees, including 324 sworn officers, and a $49 million budget. Baker was arrested for driving under the influence after a car crash in Arlington County. He had a blood alcohol level of .19 which is more than twice the legal limit. “I offer no excuses for my bad decisions and behaviors because there are none, and I am , and will be, forever haunted by the personal embarrassment and humiliation I caused to those who have supported me…” said Baker.
Baker looks forward to being a part of Ridin’ Dirty and using his experience to better the community. He also has plans to speak out elsewhere, including to high school students and police academy cadets.
