Washington County Circuit Judge, W. Kennedy Boone III, was arrested last night around 8PM under suspicion of DWI in a two-vehicle accident.

Boone was driving through Hagerstown when he crossed the center divider of the road. His small SUV sideswiped another car driven by Cherina Rivers. Rivers complained of neck and back pain after the accident and was taken to a local medical center. Thankfully, her 3-year-old passenger was unharmed in the accident,

Boone was cooperative during his field test, according to reports, but he performed in a manner to lead to his detainment for suspicion of impairment. He then registered .18% on a blood alcohol test. He was charged officially with failure to drive right of the center lane and DWI.

No court date has been set at this point. Boone remained in jail until around 10PM when he was released to the custody of a friend. Boone has served the 4th Circuit since 1997 with an otherwise clean history. You can locate his full professional profile at this link.

Adding to the intrigue in this report is the recent call for DWI reform in Maryland. The legislature is currently considering several measures to crack down on drunken driving in the state.
