Palm Springs, CA - When his minivan rolled over on Interstate 10, causing a two year old boy's arm to break, a 5 year old girl's leg to break, and both a 6 year old boy and a 35 year old woman to sustain head injuries, Edward Dunbar was guilty of more than just negligence, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the vehicle, Edward Dunbar, age 32, was also injured in the wreck. His injuries included a broken leg. Because of the compound fracture, CHP said he could not be booked into jail. So instead of going to the Riverside County jail, he went to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is listed as drug intoxication combined with a tread separation on the left rear tire, which caused him to lose control. Toxicology reports will determine the exact nature of the California DUI charges, but at this point it looks like he will face felony driving under the influence charges and felony child endangerment charges.
