Meet The Mississippi DUI Lawyers

Victor W. Carmody, Jr.

From 1973 to 1980, Victor Carmody served as a lieutenant in the Jackson Police Department. This experience shaped his DUI defense practice and enables him to give his clients the best defense because he knows DUI cases from both sides of Mississippi DUI law.

Mr. Carmody is an original Founding Regent of the National College for DUI Defense, which is the only agency in the country empowered by the American Bar Association to certify attorneys as drunk driving defense specialists. He served as Dean of College from 2001-2002, and he is currently a Fellow. He is active as an instructor of DUI lawyers from around the nation at the annual summer trial college at Harvard.

Kevin Stewart

Mr. Stewart’s practice is primarily focused on defending individuals charged with driving under the influence.

Mississippi Lawyer Kevin StewartMr. Stewart currently holds the position of state delegate of the National College for DUI Defense for the State of Mississippi, which designates him as a local resource to inform other attorneys throughout the United States on the laws and consequences of DUI’s in Mississippi.

Mr. Stewart has received certification for the operation of the Intoxilyzer® 8000 as well as conducting standardized field sobriety testing according to the guidelines set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Mr. Stewart attends numerous seminars each year throughout the United States concerning the defense of individuals charged with driving under the influence and also has had the privilege and opportunity to lecture and present materials to both attorneys and judges at seminars focusing on driving under the influence.

He is a co-author of West publishing: Mississippi Criminal Trial Practice Forms and Mississippi DUI Law and Practice.

Kevin is a graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi

Lance Mixon

Mississippi DUI Attorney Lance MixonAttorney Lance Mixon is a graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from Florida State University, and holds a Certificate in Law Enforcement. Lance also completed an internship with the US Secret Service.

Lance is devoted to defending his Mississippi DUI clients. He has completed numerous courses on the subject of DUI law, defenses and science, including an Intoxilyzer 8000 operators course.
