Minnesota third degree DWI penalties
I've read that third-degree DWI in MN is more serious than a simple misdemeanor, and is called a gross misdemeanor.
According to the state, it is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
Why is there such a big difference between a 4th and 3rd degree DWI in Minnesota? Can a lawyer get a 3rd degree charge reduced to a 4th degree?
