Minnesota drunk driving penalties for fourth degree DWI
A fourth degree DWI in Minnesota is the lowest level of drunk driving charge in the state. Did you know that it's only punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine if the person doesn't have any prior DWI convictions in the last 10 years, and there does not refuse to take a chemical test or have any additional aggravating factors.
I'm curious what the typical punishment is for a first offense basic DWI with nothing serious?
I've heard some horror stories about people having to do a lot of jail time for a first drunk driving conviction, but understand that Minnesota is a bit lighter on DWI cases than some other states. Is that true?

Good luck.
