So I was arrested for OUI in Boston, Massachusetts, and I'm trying to figure out what the best course of action is. I'm afraid to call an attorney because I have a hard time saying no, and I don't want to go into debt for this, but at the same time if I get the conviction I think I might lose my job.

It's not like I drive on the job, and I generally use public transportation around Boston anyways, but in this economy I think that my employer is looking for reasons to let people go for cause, and I think if he finds out that I was arrested for this drunk driving charge, that might be enough to push me over the edge.

Has anybody actually gotten a better result using an attorney than not? I am very curious to hear peoples' experiences.
