Default Progressive insurance and DUI convictions

I have heard good things about Progressive insurance company in regards to how they treat people after they get DUI arrests or convictions. While other insurance companies drop people or raise rates, I have heard that for some, switching to Progressive can actually bring rates down to below where they were with other insurance companies before they got a drunk driving arrest in the first place.

Does anybody have any information on this? It would be good to know the circumstances of how rates actually went down. For example, did they go down because coverage went from a lot to minimal, or were the policy terms and limits about the same, just cheaper price with Progressive with a DUI than with, say, Geico, Farmers or Allstate without one?

Or is the "Progressive is DUI-friendly" thing just a myth?

I've heard good things about them, and I think in most states that they are probably the best to work with after a DUI.
