Ok, I'm in a bit of a dilemma because my license is suspended but my car (which is leased) has to have insurance. I can't get my license back for a year, but my lease has another 24 months on it. I don't want to ruin my credit by defaulting, and I'd rather just keep it. My current insurance company is dropping me for the same reason my license was suspended.

Assuming that I can find an insurance company that will insure me with my current traffic record (which isn't great, but not terrible either), are they going to insist that a licensed driver be insured.

I fully intend not to drive at all during my suspension, but would like to be able to let my girlfriends drive the car, so I can it insured for collision/liability as well as damage. It's definitely going to sit in my car port a lot, but I also want to be able to drive it.

Of the following insurance companies, does anybody have a recommendation?

  • Allstate
  • Progressive
  • Geico
  • Farmers
What other car insurance companies do you recommend?
