ARIZONA MVD ISSUES
In DUI Cases

One of the most mysterious and potentially frustrating parts of dealing with our Arizona DUI charge is dealing with the Arizona MVD, or Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division.
The Court where your criminal DUI case is scheduled has criminal jurisdiction over you. However, the MVD has jurisdiction over your privilege to drive in AZ, regardless of whether you hold an Arizona drivers license, or a license from another state or country.
It is the MVD which suspends your license if you get a DUI, not the court. It is also the MVD that imposes an Ignition Interlock Device requirement following any DUI conviction.
