DUI Attorney Marketing – Become a Partner
We help you attract great clients…
…so you can focus on getting them great results.
Old-media marketing doesn’t work the way it used to. The quality and quantity of phone book leads has plummeted. The Internet makes potential clients more educated and savvy about your services. The breadth of content available online renders 30 second television spots and phone book ads obsolete. People want information, and if you don’t give it to them they will go to your competitor who does.
Large law firms with million-dollar marketing budgets are being equalized by smaller firms and solos with the right voice. With the rise of blogging, forums and online communities, one good (or bad) referral reaches the eyes and ears of thousands of people.
Like it or not, whether a good potential client is referred to you or stumbles across a piece of your advertising, they are going to research you on the Internet, sometimes before contacting you, and almost always before hiring you.
For most good attorneys, it is a question of balance.
For DUI Attorneys With An Established Internet Presence: If you have been advertising online for years, you know that the competition is now tougher than ever, which has driven the cost per new client acquisition way up. You see other websites and firms that you have never heard of targeting the same geographical and practice areas you once ruled. You want to make sure you maintain your edge, but you need to balance it against keeping your costs low and maintaining a quality of practice and life. You want to protect your turf, but it’s getting attacked from so many different directions that you don’t know where to start. You worry that if you make the wrong investment your practice will never recover its former glory.
For DUI Attorneys New To The Internet: If you are just opening a practice or just realizing that direct mail, phone books and other forms of old media are fading, you are already fighting an uphill battle. It’s hard for you to distinguish the difference between a $5,000.00 per month website pitched to you by a large law-media company and a $900.00 website built by a nerd in his basement. You wonder could there really be a big enough difference to justify the additional $59,100.00 the large company wants in the first year alone. To further complicate things, you have to come to terms with the fact that no matter how great your personal website design and content is, it will take a minimum of several months to solidify your placement, perhaps longer. You need to balance keeping your expenses low enough to survive the first year with spending enough on marketing to ensure that people actually know that you exist.
How do you sort it all out?
There are two basic ways to come to terms with the mountain of Internet marketing opportunities and concepts for DUI lawyers.
- The first is trial and error, which is a zero sum game because you are experimentng with a finite resource and are up against professionals that have already made the mistakes that you are most likely about to make.
- The second is to get the right kind of help. While there are thousands of Internet marketing and “search engine optimization” companies vying for your business, there are very few that focus 100 percent on DUI/DWI cases, and even fewer that are run by a webmaster who is also an attorney with over a decade of experience building successful law practices using the Internet.
If you decide to try option number one above, there is no reason for you to read any further. You will make your mistakes, but hopefully you will see your share of success too. If you want to learn more about option two above, let’s continue.
A Brief History Of DUIAttorney.com:
DUIAttorney.com was created by Dan Jaffe, who was a practicing DUI defense lawyer with over 10 years of private practice experience. Dan bought the domain “duiattorney.com” in the late 1990′s. Between that time and February 2009, the site served as the local firm website of a single firm, first in Seattle, and then in Arizona.
In November of 2008, Dan began developing the domain into the current national site that you see today. The current national site launched in February 2009 with minimal content for some states, and attorneys occupying only Arizona and Washington State. With the growth of the site in early 2009, Dan realized that he would eventually have to make a choice between practicing law full-time and running the website full-time. By April 2009 Dan started winding down his law practice, and concluded his last active case in September, and has been working on the website and helping DUI lawyers from around the country improve their practices ever since.
Through 2009, the growth of the website was 100 percent organic. As of January 1, 2010, all of the attorneys featured on the site were the result of either direct inquiries or referrals from other attorneys.
In late December 2010 Innovation HQ acquired the site from Mr. Jaffe. The site is now owned by Innovation HQ and operated by VRoooom Web.
Exclusivity – The Cornerstone Of Ethical Attorney Marketing
One of the biggest problems with large Internet marketing companies who sell “search engine optimization” to lawyers is that they sell the same services to multiple competing firms. That some lawyers don’t realize that this presents a conflict of interest is a testament to either ignorance or the power of positive thinking.
If the goal is the number one spot, it is physically impossible to optimize two different sites for the same targeted keywords and do a good job on both, right?
At DUIAttorney.com, we work exclusively with one law firm or attorney per area. An area can mean a state, or counties within the state. So when you stake out your territory, it is yours and safe from your competitors for as long as you continue with the service.
Because we are an exclusive website, we screen each potential member to make sure they are a competent and in good standing with their state’s bar, and that they are a good match in the overall program.
Flexible Terms – We’re Confident It’s Going To Work
For new clients we offer month-to-month terms, so you don’t have to commit to a year or more of services just to see if it’s going to work for you. Once you realize the benefits it brings you and your practice and we have established a good working relationship, we are happy to convert to a longer-term commitment if you like. We don’t want to hold anybody captive, and are confident that, if correctly measured, you will realize a great return on your investment within months of starting.
